Hi, I will be using my desktop with 1 cable-connected keyboard, 1 cable-connected mouse, and 1 cable-connected webcam.  Is it enough or I need a second webcam?

Thanks!

Hi,
It is a requirement to keep the exam without any foul play.

You don't need a 2nd webcam. The requirement is to have an external camera
to enable the proctor to observe you and the workstation together. Since
many are using laptops now, it is mentioned as an external camera I believe
as an integrated webcam cannot be used for monitoring a bigger area.

Is there any problem if the operating system of the computer is Windows 11?

It doesn't matter, because you will be booting into a Linux environment using the Red Hat exam environment. The exam environment will leave your Windows 11 alone and you will be able to get back to it when you are done with the exam.

I tried to take the RHCSA today, and took it with the remote option, from home. I had a very hard time interacting with the test. First, the current test .iso did not load for me. I had to use an older version. The system checks went fine, but when I logged in to take the test, the machine would not boot. Tech support showed me how to do it, but then I could't even enter any text to login! After half an hour, I had to give up. So knowing myself, I admit part of the problem is probably me. I just didn't understand how to interact with the test. I couldn't even begin the test, after many many hours of preparation. So my question is this: Is there a practice test where you can get familiar with the test environment? And, is the test environment / system any different if I take the test at a test facility?

Because of the nature of the exam method, it is highly recommended to test
your workstation and exam environment even before you book the exam !!!

You just need a Red hat login (the one you are planning to use for the
exam) and ISO to test the exam environment. If you are able to boot, login
with your Red Hat login, and are able to do compatibility test, then the
exam will go smoothly. (experience from multiple exams !)

I have documented the steps and details here if you want to check it out.

Hello,

I'm scheduled for a remote exam next week, I have one problem, I'm partially deaf and need to use a captioning service, will I be able to talk to the proctor via my phone (that has a captioning app) or is there a caption or chat option available during the exam? I won't be able to hear the proctor speak via the computer.

Please advise.

Thanks.

The chat option will be there when you "Start the Exam" (until you end the
exam) and the proctor will communicate with you via chat 99% of the time.

Anyway, wait for some moderators to comment on this. :)

Hey everyone,

I had a quick question about the "Creating a remote exam LiveUSB" section of the documentation -

The documentation only mentions Windows 10, 8.1 and 7. Will Windows 11 still work as expected for the live media creation and giving the exam?

And in general, would it be okay to use a Windows 11 laptop?

Yes, as long as you can successfully create the USB media, verify that you
can boot into the exam environment and do the compatibility test without
any problems. (Do it at least a week ago to ensure your environment is
ready and you will get enough time to test and reschedule exams in case of
any issues).

The Windows OS doesn't matter here as you will be using an isolated OS from
the USB.
I Hope this helps.
