Hi @Sanju7, thanks for replyng!

Well, the idea of using the laptop is that it has a camera... I do have a desktop computer with Red Hat (imagine why?), but I do not have an external camera.

Buying an external camera just for to run Red Hat exams it is going a bit extreme, considering that my idea was to go to a training facility instead (preciselly I really wanted to avoid those issues!)

Travelling to Madrid (500 kms from here) is not a practical/cheap option.

Anyway, it will have to be with the mouse and Spanish keyboard of the laptop instead. Not happy, but no choise.

Cheers,

Ana

Hi Ana
Many greetings to Spain. Having an external camera is the mandaroty requirement for Red Hat certification exams. The proctors need to have a side view of you.
The good thing is the camera may be very cheap, old, and ordinary one that no gamer wants any more. I am sure they are lying around dusted or can be easily purchased second hand. The ID verification can be done using the internal camera, but having an external camera is a must.
Regards

Hi , I am scheduled for EX316 next Monday and I cannot run the compatibility test. I am using the same Lenovo laptop as I usedIMG_5511.jpgIMG_5512.jpg last year for exam, I have tried with older and newer ISO image on the USB , I even tried with another newer Lenovo. Instead of going into the Compatibility test menu it starts looping into a rotating 3 red dots . Pls see images. Thank you in advance...

Hi @dddddd ,

Kindly try to login using Redhat ID and not your email id. Boot from the latest iso (2023-06) version and you can perform the compatibility test. You can reach out to support for quick assistance.

Hi Daniela,

From the user interface on the image you sent, it is very clear that you're using older version of ISO. Please note that all the older versions of ISO has been archieved and we currently have only 202306 version available in use.

So, please download the current version of ISO from the below link, create the live USB using the same and boot from it.

I see that your RHID is same as your email ID, so you can use the same.

Hi all,

I will sit my RHCSA exam in 2 weeks time. I decided to start getting my remote exam environment ready now and I tested the compatibility, unfortuantely, the microphone is being detected as "Adequate" and it fails the test (yes, the volume is all the way up). When I replay the test I can clearly hear myself and the background noise.

Will that stop me from sitting the exam since it doesn't pass the test?

Do never set the mic volume (sensitivity) fully up. It overamplifies the mic input and gives the noise. See the red indicators. There must be none present in silence but maximum present when you make some noise. The solution is easy. Find a proper position of your mic volume slider in the settings. In case it does not help, use a different mic

Thank you! It makes sense. I used the webcam mic and it's all sorted.

@mcalautt It could be more likely something to do with the compatibility of the computer with exam ISO.

Few devices (NOT ALL) with AMD processor, Nvidia graphics, RTX graphic cards, gaming devices experiences boot issues where it will either get stuck at 100% loading screen or goes blank with a blinking cursor
