Yes he means laptop loudspeaker which will be very sufficient to hear the
notification ring. But a Microphone, either built-in or external, is
mandatory so that the proctor can hear your background to ensure that no
one talks to you during the exam to offer help.

Thank you. Currently, I have two options on how to hook the mic:

1) via headset.

2) I have an external Blue Yeti large USB table mic.

Once I download an image for the exam I'll test both options to see if they work.

Hello @Prashanthe14
The ISO is not an application. It is a snapshot of a memory device, including partitions and data. The ISO needs to be extracted onto a USB thumb drive, and your computer must boot from it in order to take the certification exam. It is therefore important to test the computer compatibility several days in advance to make sure the computer can be used to take the exam.

@Prashanthe14 You're not going to install ISO on to your computer. Once you download the ISO, you need to put it on to USB drive. Just copy-paste will not work here. You need to burn/write the downloaded ISO on to USB stick using any of the bootable USB creation tool like Fedora Media Writer or Rufus or any other of your choice.

Once it is completed, you've to boot from that created bootable USB drive. When the boot is completed, the ISO on the drive will now be running on the Memory of your device.

Hi where is the link to the support chat? The email says "Remote exam chat support" and links to https://www.redhat.com/en/services/certification/exam-preparation#:~:text=our%20exam%20offerings-,Re... and there is no obvious chat function there.

I have an exam in 23hrs and after booting from the USB and loading the OS, it presents a dialog: "Something went wrong. Contact support. OK"
And then it powers off. This is a brand new Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5, and the Sep 19 2025 exam ISO.

Hello @BradM_NZ
The link goes to the page with the chatbot icon in the lower right-hand corner. This is where you open the chat. I hope this helps

Yes thanks Petr. I had to switch browsers to see this feature unblocked.

I see. What browser does not support it?

Brave, based off Chromium. It does support it, but applies strict blocking rules that would need to be adjusted for it to work
