I'm a girl born in Mexico City. My first contact with Linux was coursing the 4th-period of my Bachelor Degree, one of my teachers was very into Red Hat, during this time I knew Red Hat 9, and my first project was to create an FTP server and Samba server to share files and printers with Windows XP, it was a little complicated, but I did it. My second experience was on my 5th period, the project was a cluster implementation with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, I had no idea what was SeLinux, then my teacher told me, just disabled it and keep going with the project (Now, I know how to use SeLinux and I saw how wrong I was). After that, during my internship I started working with CentOs 6, making some implementations, configuring web servers, NFS servers, and e-mail servers, with the time, I felt more confident with that, So obviously my thesis was a manual to taught the new generations how to install, configure, and administrate a Web Servers and E-mail Servers using CentOs 6. I got Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, and after 3 days been graduated, I started at my first job (I was so lucky to get a job immediately after the graduation). My role was as a Manager of the computing area, and my tasks were it: administration of Cisco routers, administration of Directory Server in Windows Server 2000, and Windows Server 2003, administration of DNS on Mandriva and DHCP in Mandrake, but to be honest, I missed so much CentOs and Red Hat. After 3 years working as a Manager, finally appear a new opportunity: "Be an Instructor of Red Hat Enterprise Linux in Mexico City" a friend of mine referred me ( this friend now is my Husband) and immediately I started taking some training, certifications, and sharing my knowledge about Red Hat with the students, after 3 years delivering training and taking certifications, I was the first woman to achieve the RHCA in the entire country of Mexico. I moved to the US because my husband had a new job opportunity. And I stopped for a while because I'm dealing with my English, but in my free time, I keep going learning about the new technologies and updates about Red Hat.
