Chapter10 insight v9.2

Jump to solution

Hi,

I have been looking at chapter 10 about insights, but there is noway I get the serverd.lab.example.com registered. The first exercise where you need to register this goes to a second bullit like look here and here. But there is nothing mentioned on an URL or something. But it seems like you need to go to console.redhat.com if I understood correct from later things, but there you run into the issue that the machine is unable to register using the insight-client because of a 401 unauthorized. See the loop I am getting into with this chapter

Anyone else ran into this or am I just missing something?

Unfortunately right now, there isn't a good way for students to perform the Insights lab and chapter. There was supposed to be a warning in the book, but it hasn't made it there yet. In order to perform the labs with Red Hat Insights, you must have an actual Red Hat subscription with available entitlements and it must be registered to Red Hat. Additionally, there could be potential problems if you are leveraging a corporate subscription as the server will get registered to your actual system inventory.

I have asked that there be an admonition in the book.
