DO188 finish script doesn't clean up old containers and images - is it supposed to?

I just did the first guided exercise for DO180, section 2.2. The exercise's text says this:

However, after running the finish script, the containers, and their images, are not removed:

I checked, and they remain even after the lab environment is stopped and restarted (as expected).

As I am preparing this course to teach to my students in the fall, I have two questions about this:

  1. Will it matter if these containers are left behind?
  2. Should I tell my students to go ahead and use a podman rmi -af command to remove all containers and images?

Hello @Tracy_Baker !

Apologies for coming late here and responding to your post : I think you are talking about DO188v4.12 Ch02s02 ( and NOT DO180 course ) - I was unable to reproduce this in my lab ( NA region ) :

Are you still able to reproduce this in your lab ? In a freshly created lab ?

To your questions :

1. I dont think it will matter if those containers are left behind in the lab.

2. Yes you can remove them - because labs are independent and any pre-requisite for a lab should be provided by the lab start script itself in any chapter sections.
