EX288: Is there anyone that recently passed the v4.12?

Jump to solution

Hi everyone,

Is there anyone that passed the EX288 recently? I just failed my attempt including the retake, incredible.

Besides the fact of working with containers for 3 hours, I still get 0% on the topic "working with containers" LMFAO.

I understand I need to do this test in alignment with what Red Hat expects, but solving the mysteries of what is written in the questions is beyond the scope.

I am not encouraging any developer from my team to do this exam until we fine-tune these exam scores and balance.

Please share with me something.....  =]

I passed it recently with score of 281/300. Not sure how exam looked a month ago but I felt like this exam - in terms of design - was one of the best from the ones I took lately. It was a tough fight for full 3 hours, but I really enjoyed it.
I feel like if you do DO288 course, you read questions with focus, and you know how to use the documentation when needed, this exam is completely passable.

Indeed, tough exam. However, I only agree with "if you do DO288 course", if that was updated, otherwise this is not true. Reading the questions with focus is also funny. It took me time to finish the exam in 3h due the fact of having to read in between the lines of the questions.

For all those who are confused by how the exam is graded: I failed my first attempt, too, and was surprised to see a lot 0% for many of the tasks. I was sure that I got many of the tasks at least partially correct. I asked afterwards and was told that only if a task is 100% correct, you get 100% of the points. It there is a slight mistake, you get 0 points. So in reality, there are not 300 points to collect, but 8. And you need to get 6 out of 8 points.

My mistake was that I thought I could earn points for partially completed tasks and as soon as I had to think a little about a task I jumped to the next in order to save valuable time. I wanted to get as many points out of the time I had left as I could.

So my advice: Only go on to the next task if you are sure you completed the task you have been busy with at 100%. Partial efforts do not count. Also keep in mind that it is an algorithm that grades your exam. If you did everything correctly, but had a typo in the name of your project, the algorithm will not find your solution and give you 0%.

Hope this helps.
