During creating the new vm from the template it is not possible to enter the name for the template.
The required fields are not shown and the frame is blank.
Unfortunately I have lost lab time again because of such failures. That is very frustrating.
As a result the complete lab can not continue at this stage any you must interrupt the lab.
@jakoI’m sorry this was missed earlier. I’ve raised the extension topic again with management and I’m hopeful we’ll hear back soon.
Thanks for flagging this. When an issue like this affects your ability to progress (especially one related to lab performance) the best path forward is to open a support ticket. That way, the team can act within SLA and get things resolved faster than what’s typically possible through the community.
Also, regarding the lab time lost, please include that in your ticket and ask for an extension. We absolutely want to make sure you get the full experience.
Hi Tudor,
thanks for you answer.
I see two issues, the 1st one:
I opened a ticket for the 1st bug concerning DO316 3 days ago (2025-08-04.) and the support did not react to my ticket at this time.
Ticket number: RHT2428257
That is very annoying!
Thanks this community we found a workaround for that (Chetan), but the RedHat support provides no answer at all.
the 2nd one,
how can I address the issues with the lab environment especially because of the bugs. Who is resonsible to extend the lab time? I have no idea.
P.S. I have contacted Miguel from the RedHat training team responsible for Germany and he will try to find a solution.
1. extending lab time
2. why did not answer the Red Hat Support team (no reaction > 3 days)
Thanks for calling this out and for sharing the context. I’m really sorry for the delay and the frustration it’s caused. I’ve escalated your support case to the management team to ensure it gets the attention it needs.
Once support replies, feel free to ask for a lab extension given the blockers you hit. That’s a fair ask and the request should be honored under the circumstances.
Also, thank you for looping in Miguel and I hope that helps move things along as well.
I’ll stay close to this until it’s resolved.
Hi@jako,
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We truly appreciate your patience throughout this issue.
You can now proceed with the DO316 v4.16 Chapter 10 Comprehsive review by re-provisioning your lab environment. Re-provisioning will ensure you're working with the latest lab setup.
I have also tested the environment from my end, and the Comprehensive review is working fine.
Regarding your support ticket (RHT2428257
An issue was indeed identified in the course content. As noted by the support engineer in your ticket, they checked with the curriculum team, provided a workaround, and confirmed that the issue has now been fixed.
For the lab time extension, we recommend mentioning this directly in your support ticket chat. The team will review the impact and assist you accordingly.
We appreciate your collaboration and engagement with the community while this was being resolved.
I have addressed the support team concerning course and lab time extension but they did not respond to my question.
I stopped the whole environment many times, cleared the browser cache., initialized the lab over and over again but the outcome is always the same.
Sorry, but this course is a nightmare.
No or late reaction after days from the support, no respond to my questions and so on.
I recommend completely deleting the lab environment and re-creating it from scratch. This will ensure a clean setup with the latest updates applied.
Please also make sure that the lab package version is 4.16.6 after re-creating the environment.
[student@workstation ~] lab --version Lab framework version: 4.33.0 Course library: rht-labs-do316 Course library version: 4.16.6
Solved, I deleted the complete lab, recreated it, initialized and it works!
Thank you very much, Akay07!
Great! Happy Learning! @jako
@jako Glad that your issue was resolved. Thanks for your understanding and patience!
