Red Hat  System Administration I: (RH124  v8.2),
Red Hat  System Administration II: (RH134 v8.2),
Red Hat Certified System Administrator Rapid Track: (RH199 v8.2)

As containers become a ubiquitous and critical component of modern infrastructure, it is increasingly important for system administrators to learn the essential skills required to manage and run containers. Today we are pleased to announce the release of three updated courses: “Red Hat System Administration I” (RH124), “Red Hat System Administration II” (RH134), and “Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator Rapid Track” (RH199).

We have upgraded all three courses to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 and added approximately 200 minutes of entirely new content introducing containers for system administrators to RH134 and RH199.

The new “Running Containers” chapter discusses foundational container concepts, including:

  • Running containers with Podman.
  • Selecting, inspecting, and pulling container images with Podman and Skopeo.
  • Attaching persistent storage from the host to the container.
  • Starting containers at boot as systemd services.

Additionally, we have refreshed the following content:

  • Updated Cockpit (RH124 and RH199)
  • Updated installer and Red Hat Insights (RH134 and RH199)
  • Simplified Stratis content to focus on basic usage (RH134 and RH199)

We have also received valuable feedback from instructors and support teams. This release includes fixes to a total of 73 Jira tickets, including enhancements, instruction clarifications, and lab script stabilization.

It is very exciting to see the historical Red Hat system administrator courses and exams include container content! Linux system administrators who have a baseline knowledge in how to run and manage containers are essential.

Hi. My red hat learning subscription ran out earlier this year but I have not sat the RHCSA exam. Will I get access to the updates.

In another red hat post it says

Any students who have purchased or taken either course within the last year will be given free access to the added course materials and virtual instruction

Thanks

@al3 My first recommendation is to renew your subscription because we have had many new courses released over the past few weeks! If you cannot renew your subscription, you should have received an email with how to access the bonus container content to help prepare you for the new section of the EX200 exam.

You can see the FAQ here, with information on individuals who qualify to receive access to free container content, and instructions on how to access. Here are eligibility requirements:

Am I eligible for the free content, RHCSA650E?

Eligible students are:

    • Students who have purchased or taken RH134/RH199 between August 17th, 2019 and September 30th, 2020
    • Students who have purchased or scheduled EX200 between August 17th, 2019 and September 30th, 2020
    • This includes students who have scheduled exams after September 30th 2020 as long as they purchased the exam before September 30th 2020.

Please let us know if this helps and feel free to ask further questions on the FAQ page.

Hi,

I have bought RH199 course last week of September, 2020. I still see the 4 day training, 5th day was not added with Container materials. Any action required from my end?

If I take EX200 exam this weekend, will that includes container topic? or it will be added to the exam after the material added to the course?

Thanks,

Samuel

@vytas I'm not entirely sure of the issue you are descibing, but the new RHSCSA650e video content should be available on Monday 11/2.

Amazing now RHCSA shifted the different levels of learning course path. RHCSA650e is purely on a container working. It helps to create a strong path for any individual. Not only raising your standard competency level but also see yourself moving a different era of a core system admin to a more efficient system admin level. Great Thumbs up

Hi @HeshD @shashi01 @Jim_Meegan

I recently booked RHCSA & RHCE training & certification program with one of the authorized RedHat partner. Just wants to clarify few things, your response in this regard will be much appreciated.

1. I received RH124 (RHEL8.2-en-1-20200928) courseware from RedHat partner, is this edition still valid, or new edition has already launched?

2. This training and material is not reflecting in my redhat profile.

Your response on above queries will be much appreciated.
