Actually, I rechecked. I replied to ticket. The guide doesn't mention you need to go to Administer -> Observe. It just says go to Observe. And there is also observe menu in developer view. And I happened to be on that view. The guide should be added to mention you need to be in the administrator view.

@Chetan_Tiwary_ and @ikkeT -

This is definitely a place where the guide can be "improved". Looking at the book and the instructions, it is Step #5 asking you to be in the adminstrator perspective. So keep in mind that both the admin and developer users can view OpenShift from Administrator/Developer perspective. The big difference here is that as explained, the admin user has access to all cluster resources.

What "should" have happened is continuing on from Step #5 as you were already in the Administrator perspective, but as @ikkeT mentioned, for some reason, the Developer perspective was entered and in view, so from that standpoint, the instructions are incomplete and not clear. So what should be clear is in Step 7 to be in the Administrator perspective.

What is happening is that there is the expectation that when the user went to the "Administrator perspective" as the "DEVELOPER" user that when they logout and back in as the "ADMIN" user, they return to the Administrator perspective. This apparently isn't always the case and because there is the "observe" and other components available from both web-console perspectives, we should be very clear here.

@Natalie_Lind - tagging you for updates and additional information.

Thanks @Travis for the additon!

I have shared the feedback regarding the proposed improvement based on  : "for some reason, the Developer perspective was entered and in view, so from that standpoint, the instructions are incomplete and not clear. So what should be clear is in Step 7 to be in the Administrator perspective."
