Anyone out here still using RAID array disk configurations?
Travis, I know RAID is old, cause I'm old - had a full head of black hair when I started my journey with this technology. I have a much different look now (-:) Anyway, I hear you loud and clear in what you're saying in your comments!
Wow! When I saw you make reference to hdparm, I said to myself "I don't recall saying anything about that in my post". The reason I said that is because I had been, just a couple of days ago, retrieving some parameter info on a /dev/vda device. Being the tinkerer that I am, I thought I would see if I could give sdparm a whirl, to retrieve that same info. So, it's like the universe was playing with my mind when I read "hdparm" mentioned in your response. Okay, back to this post
Well, as usual, you've given me a bone with a lot of meat on it, with your commentary involving CEPH. Definitely something to bolster your point regarding the afformentioned RAID.
Many, many thanks for the food for thought, in another great lesson!!!!
