Hello all,
i’m having some issues with the boot of the Remote Exam Live ISO.
During the preparation for the Remote Exam for ROL Course DO288, i tried to boot my Laptop using the Remote Exam Live ISO. I'm following the docs available here: https://www.redhat.com/en/resources/remote-exams-preparation-ebook.
Downloaded https://static.redhat.com/downloads/training-certification/rhrexboot.iso and written it to USB Stick by using the dd utility.
The boot process is starting until the screen "environment is loading into memory" appears, it counts up to 100% and then nothing more is happening.
I tried different USB-Stick, always the same result.
For tests, i also used the rhrexboot-2020-08.iso Image, which i found as reference in an redhat Issue description, this one is working for me. Boot is without error, and the hardware compatibility checks are successful.
I plan to do the exam soon, thanks to advice how to proceed. I only have one Laptop available for the training/exam, it's a Lenovo Thinkpad P50.
Greetings
Oliver
I have my EX200 REMOTE EXAM scheduled on 12th jan 2023. The current ISO
https://static.redhat.com/downloads/training-certification/rhrexboot.iso is not working on my laptop. But rhrexboot-2020-08.iso works fine. Can I use rhrexboot-2020-08 for giving my remote exam?
Thanks.
yes, you can. Make sure to pass the compatibility test.
Just a little advice. Make sure not to use a mobile hotspot, the upload stream should be. at least 10Mbps for a good experience.

Thank you for the quick response sir. I actually have close to 100mbps upload speeds so internet shouldn't be a problem. I also passed the compatibility test on the iso with md5 sum "478157b7675223468d83253a241a1fd5" . So I should use this iso only for the remote exam as it is the latest version?

Thanks
I download tthe iso file https://static.redhat.com/downloads/training-certification/rhrexboot.iso and system successfully boots but it does not launch the redhat login page once its successfully connected to internet. Any thought ?
@ba31this is what I did when I got to the blank screen to get it to display the login page. Hold CTRL + ALT + F3 Key. It worked for me with this iso file https://static.redhat.com/downloads/training-certification/rhrexboot.iso, however I'm not sure if it will work on the 2020 iso file.
@Emeka What computer and video card do you have?
@PetrCihlar I’m using gaming laptop Alienware M15 R5 with AMD Ryzen R9. I should also mention that I didn’t make it past the login page because my exam voucher expired before IT Support could figure out what was going on. I’m yet to find out if I’ll get my exam rescheduled or refunded. If it will be rescheduled then I’ll know for sure if my computer will pass compatibility test or not.
Thank you. There are expected compatibility issues with gaming computers in general. Especially with Ryzen, as many of you reported o this forum.
The CTRL + ALT + F3 shortcut just took you to another console login screen. This is not the login page to the exam
