Hello all,
i’m having some issues with the boot of the Remote Exam Live ISO.
During the preparation for the Remote Exam for ROL Course DO288, i tried to boot my Laptop using the Remote Exam Live ISO. I'm following the docs available here: https://www.redhat.com/en/resources/remote-exams-preparation-ebook.
Downloaded https://static.redhat.com/downloads/training-certification/rhrexboot.iso and written it to USB Stick by using the dd utility.
The boot process is starting until the screen "environment is loading into memory" appears, it counts up to 100% and then nothing more is happening.
I tried different USB-Stick, always the same result.
For tests, i also used the rhrexboot-2020-08.iso Image, which i found as reference in an redhat Issue description, this one is working for me. Boot is without error, and the hardware compatibility checks are successful.
I plan to do the exam soon, thanks to advice how to proceed. I only have one Laptop available for the training/exam, it's a Lenovo Thinkpad P50.
Greetings
Oliver

@ba31this is what I did when I got to the blank screen to get it to display the login page. Hold CTRL + ALT + F3 Key. It worked for me with this iso file https://static.redhat.com/downloads/training-certification/rhrexboot.iso, however I'm not sure if it will work on the 2020 iso file.

@PetrCihlar I’m using gaming laptop Alienware M15 R5 with AMD Ryzen R9. I should also mention that I didn’t make it past the login page because my exam voucher expired before IT Support could figure out what was going on. I’m yet to find out if I’ll get my exam rescheduled or refunded. If it will be rescheduled then I’ll know for sure if my computer will pass compatibility test or not.

Thank you. There are expected compatibility issues with gaming computers in general. Especially with Ryzen, as many of you reported o this forum.
The CTRL + ALT + F3 shortcut just took you to another console login screen. This is not the login page to the exam

@PetrCihlar I didn't realize that, you're right. I will be deleting the post so it's not misleading. Thanks!

Hi everyone. Tell me please rhrexboot-2020-08.iso image is still valid for the EX200 exam? The new one is not working for me too.

Be careful. The older ISO does not make some network quality checks as the current ISO does. It lets you start the exam but you may have network performance issues later. Using the current ISO is safer
