EX407 Exam - Upcoming Attempt

Hello all,

I paid for the EX407, July 2020, and the time is approaching for me to take that exam before I lose out on my investment.

As you know, even with the ability to still attempt the EX407 exam, the exam is RETIRED.

My question is, other than the intellectual and academic challenge that I would receive from taking the exam, is there any other benefit in taking the exam?  For example, would I be able to apply it torward satisfying the RHCA requirements?

Thanks in advance for your responses.  Hope you're safe and well.

Hi Trevor,

EX407 does count towards the RHCA track, so passing it would clear one of the required certifications.

More info here: https://www.redhat.com/en/services/training/ex407-retired-red-hat-certified-specialist-in-ansible-au...

Hope this helps!

Hello Fran,

Thanks for your reply.

I understand your message, but that one line near the top of the page:

Note: This exam and credential are no longer available.

contradicts the statement 2 paragraphs later:

By passing this exam, you become a Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation, which also count towards becoming a Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA).

I guess my question reall should be, what does "Retired", and "no longer available" actually mean - in this context anyway.

If the exam will still count towards the RHCA, that certainly works for me.

Thanks again Fran.

hey Trevor,

As far as I can tell, "retired" means "not available for a new purchase".  As you have already purchased it, you should be able to schedule it via the exam scheduler. If that's not the case we can dig some more here.

HTH
