Happy 34th Birthday, Linux! πŸ§πŸŽ‰

image (10).png

On this day in 1991, a student from the University of Helsinki posted this humble message to a newsgroup. He called his project a "(free) operating system (just a hobby, won't be big and professional like gnu)".

Little did he know, this "hobby" would go on to power the internet, the majority of the world's supercomputers, the entire Android ecosystem, and even rovers on Mars.

From this one message, a global community of developers, engineers, and enthusiasts was born. We are all part of that legacy. Cheers to Linus and to 34 years of open-source innovation!

My Linux journey started with Kali, diving deep into the world of security and exploration. That curiosity soon grew into a passion for open source and learning more every day. Today, as a Red Hatter, I’m proud to be part of the community that continues to shape the future of Linux.

From a very young age, I was always curious about how web servers worked. I frequently explored popular and visually appealing websites using Netcraft and noticed that most of them were powered by Linux. This sparked my interest further, and I eventually had to choose between taking a course in Red Hat or Cisco. The rest, as I say, is history.

My Journey started with Ubuntu. My brother bought his laptop with this OS.

It was new thing for me to see how we manage files in this. Then i got interested  in it.

Seeing the desktop load with its distinctive brown and orange theme, the "Humanity" icons, and the friendly "Ubiquity" installer was a revelation.

My journey started when my uncle convinced me to dual boot my brand new laptop to Linux Mint and Windows. It's so easy he said! The rest is history.
