Hi JS_Learning
1. I thought that it was worth mentioning that using "mouse shortcuts" is not recommended. CTRL+C/V is not working as well so I'm not using this keyboard shortcuts. It would be nice to have all of them working like in normal desktop but hey - we are signing terms and conditions. If someone is not happy with enviornment he/she can send some comments or go to the training center.
2. Question like "Please enable service X to run on port Y" is not so descriptive. I have no idea whether should I allow access on firewall too or not. Will this be tested from "localhost" or from another machine? It should be clarified.
3. The problem is that I had a full screen with native resolution (2560x1440) but the exam was only on part of the screen. Outside exam window there was icon with chat with proctor, window with camera view etc. But I'd like to use whole screen for exam (bigger terminal window, few windows open on one screen).
4. I'm wating for 415, 436, 442 and other but having 7 exams available as RE is a huge step forward comparing my first exams 12 years ago :)
In the Getting ready for your Red Hat remote exam document there is a link to
7. Boot to the Remote Exam Bootable Live USB - G
o to instructions
But no way to access. The file needs authorization.
Can you help
Hi @dcorazza ,
I don't know why you are getting that message, maybe it's some pdf related security?
I checked on the latest version of the document here:
7. Boot to the Remote Exam Bootable Live USB is present twice, and both "go to instructions" links are internal links (=inside that PDF), supposed to redirect you to the same document, section:
"Booting to the Remote Exam Live USB image" (page 13/20).
Hope that helps,
Hi all!
I bought RHCSA 8 exam 4days ago and I got e-mail about receiving payment, so now my order status is "Payment received". In e-mail RedHat provide link for me - "Please login to The Red Hat Training Center to view your order details". I try to enter, I can see my order details but there is no way to include my own cabinet and schedule the exam date. So, my question is: What can I do for scheduling exam and How?
Thanks
Hi @AJ17 ,
I haven't bought an exam since a few month(s). Before the Remote Exams, candidates were receiving another email with the instructions on how to schedule.
I think, if the process hasn't changed, you are supposed to received another email with the link to the scheduling tool, so you can schedule your Red Hat certification exam.
Now that a bit of time has passed since you posted, can you please verify your email and check if a new one was sent with those instructions?
Cheers,
Thank you for your answer.
I just checked and no new e-mail received.
I get total 2 e-mails:
1st - about creation of order
2nd - about received payment for order.
My friend also boughtt online exam and his 2nd email there was link in email which enables him to schedule( I mentioned it in above mesage), I have that link to in my 2nd email but when I click it, it shows me just a details or order.
***EDITED***
I got that e-mail, thanks!
HI, I am Piyush. I am going to take remote exam next week.
I have wireless keyboard and wireless mouse connected with bluetooth dongle which passed the compatibility test.
Do these wireless keyboard and wireless mouse along with bluetooth USB dongle are allowed in the exam ?
Morever, I have internal and an external USB web camera, but I am wondering if I close the lid of laptop when I connect external monitor, Will proctor allow to use only one web camera (externally connected with laptop) because laptop lid will be closed during the exam and will have to use only one camera.
Thanks much for in advance for your prompt reply. Appreciate this community very much.
I'm pretty sure that wireless mouse is not allowed during exam - I have Logitech mouse and it passed compatibility test. I had to replace mine with mouse with USB cable to be compliant with exam requirements. As for camera - I have only one external camera and it was allowed on exam. But you should be prepared for few room "scans" so camera cable longer than 1m is preferred.
Thanks much for your answer. IF mouse wasn't allowed, I guess, I will have to drop the keyboard plan as well.
Yes, wireless keyboard is out:
Keyboard: Only one keyboard is allowed for the exam. If you wish to use an external, wired keyboard with your laptop, you will have to keep the lid closed. This will require the use of an external monitor and wired mouse as well. Wireless keyboards are not permitted.
