Hi @douradoden ,

The remote version of EX300 was piloted internally and should have been available this week.
Can you try to schedule the exam here and let me know?
Please raise a ticket if you are unable to schedule it as a remote exam and the team can assist.

Regards,

Hi @vishals ,

Quick one regarding that, do you know for how long will EX300 / RHEL7 exams will be available? As per the description in [1] :

--

"""The exam based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 is available via individual exams until July 1, 2020. Classroom and on-site exams for this version are available for purchase until October 1, 2020."""

--

However a bit more of clarity on that would be useful! Cheers

Hi @Fran_Garcia ,

The RHEL7 RHCE-EX300 exam is no longer available for purchase as an individual (or remote) exam. EX300 can only be taken as a remote exam by those candidates who already have an eligibility by means of a past purchase of an EX300 (V7) voucher.

If you already have an exam voucher, it is valid for one year from the date of purchase and can be scheduled and taken at any point prior to its expiration.

Hope that clarifies.

How earlier do we need to sign on the exam to secure the test date?

4. Monitor - Dell 25" QHD monitor - no issues at all (exam workspace could be a little bit larger but I had no issues with terminal window/web browser)

How big is the exam workspace? Enough space for two or three teminal windows?

Hi @JZ2 ,

It's a Fedora 32 desktop, I think the max resolution is 1920*1080p (well probably it was like that due to my screen)... And it depends on your screen size, some people take the test on a 14" laptop...some take it on larger screen.

You can even use tabs for terminal windows, if required.

If the test environment does not meet the requirement or does not function well, would candidate be allowed to test in another time?

Hi @JZ2 ,

Please refer to the FAQ:

https://www.redhat.com/en/resources/certification-remote-exams-FAQ

It's the candidate responsability to "Get Ready".

There are some scenario where the candidate would be allowed to test in another time:

"If network connectivity problems arise within the first 30 minutes of the exam and you are unable to resolve them, you can request to discontinue and reschedule your exam attempt."

There are other situation when it won't be allowed, for example if the candidate did not comply with the requirements.

Do remember that some proctor resources are assigned to monitor the candidate, that is why it is written to reschedule at least 24 hours in advance to avoid losing the exam entitlement.

Cheers,

I am confused about the use of a wired keyboard, mouse, etc.

Does a laptop with a screen, keyboard, and touchpad(instead of a mouse) fine?

What is covering via a lid mean?
