Hi All,
I'm getting ready to sit the RHCSA. I have 2 questions:
Thanks
Hi @locious ,
- I have three monitors that are mounted on an arm. Can I just unplug all but one and show the exam proctor? If not what do I need to do?
Yes, you can unplug the monitors (and cover them with a cloth if possible). Your exam proctor will verify they are connecting before proceeding with the exam.
- I am working my way through the exam prep pdf, found here: tr-remote-exams-preparation-ebook-f27382-202103-en.pdf
- It shows the how to check the integrity of the image by running: Windows cmd:
C:\Users\user>Certutil -hashfile C:\Users\user\Downloads\rhrexboot.iso MD5
- The result on the pdf shows: The MD5 checksum for the Live USB Image is: 585cb364da1ae2fae94e22e07913316e.
- I recieve a valid checksum but not the same result as above. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Am i doing someting wrong? Any help is appreciated.
The correct checksum should be 0dd72ac558fc1afbf0c0e1fa4b366f10 . I have alerted the team to update the pdf.
Regards,
I've downloaded the ISO several times and on different computers, but the MD5 differs from the one provided in the PDF. Which one is the correct one?
PDF: https://www.redhat.com/rhdc/managed-files/tr-remote-exams-preparation-ebook-f27382-202103-en.pdf
Right md5. Tested on different computers
MD5 suposed to be correct.
Hi @ErlingtonJC ,
The md5sum is supposed to be:
0dd72ac558fc1afbf0c0e1fa4b366f10
I have submitted a request to have the PDF corrected. Thank you for alerting us.
Regards,
Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before. My laptop keyboard is broken right now, so I use an external keyboard,
But I would need my laptop open for the second camera so I could use the screen there too rather than an external monitor, so I m stuck on the only one keyboard issue. Is that a hard requirement?
Thanks
Pat
Hi @Pat3 ,
Only one external camera is needed for the remote exam. A second camera is just a bonus for the exam proctor and is not mandatory.
However, you are only allowed to use a single screen and a single keyboard for your remote exam. If you are using an external keyboard, the laptop lid will need to be closed.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Hi ,i passed my exam tomorrow on remote and i don't have the liveboot system .what is i can do
regards
I'm using a desktop setup for my examination, so should I have 2 external cameras?
Hi, No. It says here:
Webcam: One external webcam, even if your laptop has one built-in, with at least a 1m cable.

Hi.
I found yesterday that some of conventional hotkeys are not working in exam environment.
Specifically you can't Alt+tab switch between windows in exam OS.
And, most importantly, Ctrl+w. Which can substantially slow down work in terminal and in vim (with split windows).
I suspect the later can be 'fixed' with vim keys remapping, but I can't be sure workaround keys will work in exam environment.
Has anybody dealt with this?
