Hello. I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I want to take the RHCSA EX200K Individual exam for RHEL 8.2, but I cannot find the exam on the red hat website. When looking for the exam, only EX200K for RHEL 9 is availble. Is there a way I can take the exam for RHEL 8.2? I thought the RHCSA RHEL 8 will be deprecetaed in May 2023, not October 2022. So, I am not sure why I am unable to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Hello, Everyone.

I hope all is good with you, and I am very happy to be part of Red Hat Community !

If I want to certify as RHCSA-EX200, for prep I should take RH124, and RH134 only, or some additional courses ? I see the preparation' materials are for v.9, but the Exam is still for v. 8 ...

Thank you, and Best Regards,

Asen

I think you can cancel the exam and schedule again EX200V9K for RHEL 9

Thank you for your answer @PetrCihlar .

I f we consider the "recent" cituation, and if I want to certify as RHCSA-EX200, for prep I should take RH124, and RH134 only, or some additional courses ?

Thanks, and Best

That depends on how much knowledge about RHEL you already have.

Take a look at RH024, which is free of cost and will give you the very fundamentals. But RH124 and RH134 should be all you need. Once you've done them, check the content list for EX200, whether you're feeling that you need to look deeper into one of its chapters.

Unless you're working with RHEL or some other RPM based Linux every day, you really need to practice, practice, and practice. Know how to correct all errors that might occur on a Linux system, or else you might be blocked in one of your solution paths.

You can take pre-exam PE124, if you like - it's cheapter than EX200 and will give you an idea about the style of exam questions. But (at least in April '22, when I took it) PE124 did not use the exact same exam environment as EX200, so there still is a gap of proceedings between those exams.

Hello, I am scheduled to take the exam in a week and I plan to lock myself in my home office while I take the exam (away from the family).  I work from home, so I have a large L-shaped desk that has two separate desktop computers and a laptop computer on it.  The desk contains a total of 4 monitors on it (not including the laptop screen as a monitor).

Here is a breakdown of the setup:

- The laptop is my work computer and it has an external monitor attached to it

- One of the desktop PCs (my older one) has two monitors attached to it that I use for movie/music streaming and Google searching solutions for work problems

- The final desktop PC is my gaming computer and it only has one, large monitor attached to it (this is the one I planned on using to take the test)

I plan to have the laptop and the two monitor computer powered off while I take the exam.  Both of these computers sit on my left as I am facing my gaming computer that I plan to take the exam on and will be clearly viewable to the proctor through the webcam.  Will this be acceptable while taking the exam or will I need to remove the other two computers from my desk?  If required, I can remove before the exam, but would prefer not to tear all of them down and then put them back together on the desk after the exam.

Thanks,

John
