@maelamrani

For Red Hat remote exams, an external camera is necessary, even if your laptop has a built-in one. External cameras provide a broader view, enabling remote proctors to better observe your surroundings. They are also crucial for performing a complete 360-degree scan of your workspace. A webcam with about 1-meter cable length is required for this purpose.

@maelamrani

You are allowed to use only one physical display for the exam. If you choose to connect an external monitor to your laptop, you must keep the laptop lid closed throughout the exam. This means you won't be able to use your laptop's built-in camera as it will be inside the closed laptop.

If you're using an external monitor, you will also need to use a wired keyboard and a wired mouse, as wireless peripherals are not permitted.

@maelamrani

No, if you are using an external monitor for a Red Hat remote exam, you cannot use your laptop's built-in camera. if an external monitor is connected, the laptop's lid must be closed for the duration of the exam. This setup means that the built-in camera on the laptop would not be accessible or usable during the exam.

You are required to use an external webcam, which is mandatory regardless of whether your laptop has a built-in camera. The external webcam is necessary because it allows for a wider field of view, enabling the remote proctor to effectively observe your environment.

For a Red Hat remote exam, you are only required to use one external webcam, not two

Note:  If you're considering using an external monitor with a built-in camera for a Red Hat remote exam, it's advisable to contact the exam support team for guidance.

@maelamrani One external camera is the only minimum mandatory requirement for the exam ( you dont need to have two camera, if built in camera is there in the laptop or monitor it is fine but one external webcam is mandatory )

I have and older ASUS computer and when I load the RHEL remote exam Live USB on my computer the screen is flipped sideways. I cannot find anything is the settings to fix that. The disply settings while in LiveUSB just have settings to fix the display size and nothing about screen orientation.

Hi @EP88,

You can set the display resolution to 1260x800 and zoom to 200%  for the exam. Once you boot from Live USB, you can find the details under settings >> Display
