Hi,

I have uploaded my "Japan residence card" as "GOVERNMENT-ISSUED PHOTO ID". The validity period of the card for the Japanese government has expired before I was able to take the exam. Can please someone remove the uploaded and approved residence card image, so I can upload a new one?

I am having the same problem can redhat confirm if there is a problem since I have exam tomorrow

I'm stuck trying to get the exam environment working.  I boot it up, exit the configuration screen, click OK about connecting to RedHat and checking me in, and then I sit on a black screen with a mouse pointer.  I've tried manually configuring my proxy settings but see no attempt to even talk to it.  My network doesn't allow external access without explicit firewall rules or using the proxy, but I also get no error messages.  And since this is a locked down image, I can't do any of the normal diagnostics I would otherwise do.  I'm really hoping to schedule my first exam for next week, but until I get the environment tested there's no point in even scheduling...

Help?

Hi,

The black screen issue occurs when the ISO is unable to connect to the server. Unfortunately, the current version of the image does not report such errors and such error reporting should be fixed in the coming version.

Please try to boot into the image again after adding "https://rhie-poa.redhat.com/*" to the allow list. If you still have problems, please try to reach the support team using the chat option in the exam confirmation email.
If all fails, I'm afraid you will have to try to connect to the exam on a network without firewall restrictions.

What is the minimum spec requirement for external webcam? Any recommendations?

Hello,

There are no specific requirements and Red Hat only ask for an external camera with 1m cable length. However, I would look for cameras that can focus text on ID cards. We have noticed that some external webcams and laptop's integrated webcams fail to adjust their focus automatically and make them unreadable.

During usb image boot and right after hitting 100% environment loading into memory. I receive the following messages.

About 10x “no irq handler for vector” followed by 4x “ldm_parse_tocblock(): Cannot find TOCBLOCK, database may be corrupt”. Have attempted latest iso image plus previous 8/20 iso. Have attempted to disable secure boot as well and get the same issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello there,

I have not come across this error with the remote exam USB but going through the Linux/fedora forums, it appears this occurs on certain Asus motherboards and custom hard drive setups.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to help you troubleshoot/fix this and I would suggest creating a fresh USB and test it on another device.

I was able to do two exams but now this error shows to me "tocblock" I am using the same hardware and same usbdrive, also tried to burn two times but this issue shows to me and it just popped up just 1 hour before my exam and this is ridiculous.
