Always had an interest in aviation, sparked by the movie The Big Lift. Later I earned my Private pilots license (single & sailplane) and interned at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum during high school. After a long career in photography I "reinvented" myself as a college professor.

I can't really say what "career" I wanted as a child. Those kind of things were nebulous until I used my first computer in my sophomore year in high school in (1978).

It truly was "love at first sight." I wanted to "play" with computers. I've been doing so ever since.

At primary school I tought about becoming a busdriver, for a local public transport company.

At high school I wanted to become a chemistry scientist, which become a problem when I developed allergies for chemicals. In this period I got in contact with simple computers.

So I decided to study Applied Mathematics, where I got in full contact with computers.
When applying for a job in science failed, I switched to system administration.

Don't know if I thought in terms of a career as a child... (or as an adult?), but I was a pretty geeky kid... now I'm a professional geek at Red Hat...

I had wanted to be a jetpilot but I am the head of computing teaching children about technology.
Do I still want to fly a jet? Oh yeah.

As a child, I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do, I thought being a Math Teacher would be cool, and I did enjoy messing around with my parents IBM PS2 Model 30. I started writing Basic programs, got several college degrees which eventually turned into a career as a Software Engineer.

Since I was a child I used to want to be a Software Engineer because I really like videogames and I never thought about How hard is to develop one XD

Nowadays, I am not develop videogames but I am a Sofware Engineer so I got my goal and I'll never regret about it. The interesting thing is that I have never imagine that I will work at IBM and I never seen in front of me computers or cash registers at supermarket with IBM logo and now I see them in every place. Same thing with red hat technologies
