Remote exam boots its own system based on Fedora. Why isnt Apple supporting Fedora? There is no software company in the world making their operating system bootable on every HW platform ever made. There is no unified HW platform that would be able to run all existing operating systems. RedHat did a great job creating the the Remote Exam system bootable on many HW models. Unfortunately, it cannnot satisfy all users

"Anyway really shame for Redhat they dont provide exame environment which would be working on Apple's computers." - I do not think it is a shame. Take it the oposite way. Can you install Mac OS to computers shipped with Windows? Or can you install third party parts to Tesla cars? Would be nice to have an operating system being perfectly compatible with every computer ever made in the past and in the future, regardles its architecture. But it is not possible. You are preparing for the RH exam. You will hardly find RH product on Apple hardware in a real life. But still, RH does a good job allowing users to boot their exam on at least some Apple computers, despite their highly customised chipsets.

Hi.
I tried on Macbook Air 2019 and Macbook Pro 2022. IT IS NOT WORKING! Finally I used Lenovo.
The problem is Apple's T-2 security chip if I understand correctly.
Anyway really shame for Redhat they dont provide exame environment which would be working on Apple's computers.

Hi, I booted with live usb using dd utility mentioned in the guide. I have Macbook 2019 and it everything worked well except the output for recorded audio is taken by dummy test output( issue in OS) but this is not a problem to take the test. I am able to take the test. What is the bottleneck for you?

Here are the things to be considered when using Mac.

1. change settings in Mac to be able to boot from other devices

2. connect exteral LAN wire/ethernet as Mac disables its i/o devices to be used when booted by other sources.

3. Same with keyboard and mouse, use external keyboard mouse, camera with mic.

It went smoothly without any issues once I booted into exam environment.

Hope it helps!

Secure Boot must be disabled and external USB boot enable in order to be able to boot. It has nothing to do with Redhat. Of course, your computer has to be Intel, not M1 or M2 based

yes, correct. External USB adapters to connect the devices such as camera, mic, keyboard, mouse, and ethernet adapter must be used. The internal devices (chipset) are often not supported even though the computer boots.

Important note!
External docking station or some multiport adapter if you will, are dependent on Thunderbolt protocol. It is not well supported in Linux so the adapters working for you under Mac OS may not be working for the Remote exam
