exam test iso failures to create bootable USB stick

hi,

after downloading https://rhdc-statis=assets-prod.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/downloads/training-certification/rhexboot...

four times now and trying to open file to make a bootable USB stick, I get constant error
"the disk image file is corrupted".

looks like i will need to re-schedule my remote exam. not sure how to proceed, unless there is
a different link to try.
I am using win10 on my PC and my laptop, to try and make the bootable USB stick.

i just found the instructions that say to download and use 'fedora media writer'.

this app runs for only about 25-seconds and auto crashes. if i get it to the point to choose 'create live usb'. it always says 'cannot write to non-existent device'.

hi, the remote-exam-chat will not let me sign up, because i have no exam date scheduled.

my date WAS 5/4/23 but i am in the middle of trying to re-schedule it. i opened a new ticet to re-schedule it on 5/3/23.

i've already spent about 5 hours trying to create this bootable USB and no success.

Hi
you say you try to open the iso file and are getting the error  "file is corrupted". This is correct. However, you are usually able to double-click the .iso file and mount it, This time it is different. The file is encrypted on purpose. The exam ISO cannot be mounted due to its encryption and is falsely reported as corrupted. It is not. Just put it onto the  USB stick and boot from it. It will decrypt itself on the fly while booting. You do not need to know any password. Just use Fedora Media Writer or any similar ISO to USB applications that work for you. There are many. The fact you have issues with your crashing Fedora  Media Writer is a different issue|

hello Petri,

I finally have a bootable USB now. thanks.

the newest problem is this: when the USB boots, into the fedora configuration screen, there is no
option to configure ethernet. There is only option to configure VPS or wifi. I do not use either of those.

I've rebooted 4 times now and the same screens show up. The temporary OS will not load, because the error
says 'you have not configured networking'.

Hi Ivan
your computer has an ethernet card the operating system does not recognize. It is a compatibility issue. There is no way to add drivers to the exam ISO, it is locked.
The only option is to use an external USB to Ethernet adapter.
