I chatted with RH this morning about the issue and they told me (specifically about this morning 17 Feb 2021 ~5.30a ET US) that the problem was on their end and they were working on it. He said it would be a few hours before it was resolved. I was testing my connection for my exam this Friday so not a big deal for me, but I did ask him what would happen if this happened before/during my exam. He said no problem at all - contact RH and they will withdraw your exam credit b/c you could not complete due to nothing of your fault. Contact them and they can check your time against their outage window and if they match they'll reissue your exam credit.

May you please detail what you did when you say "I configured the network properly (after live boot)"? Which information did you use to configure the network?

hi thanks .

what I mean to say is i configured properly the network setting. After that when you close the window it should have lead you to the next step (I.e. connect to exam center). but i got the error.

I tried first with 4G wifi.
and the with Wred-LAN

in either of the two i am still not able to.

Now I cannot take the exam and even cannot reschedule.

hello,

same problem here!

i also scheduled the exam for 2020-12-18,

three days ago everything worked fine!

but today, after booting the image successfully, i can make my settings, close the settings,

get then the overall message "The onboarding process will begin on the next screen. ...",

and if i close this message (click OK)....

-> nothing happens, just a black window where i can open a menu with right click and have only the "change background", "Display settings" and "settings" option.

i spent about three(!) hours debugging with support,

i tried two different internet connections (in different AS), have a very good latency, can connect to other servers in US....

so it really looks like a problem on server side,

i also downloaded a fresh image and wrote it to a new usb device... same problem.

the question im asking me is do you dont monitor this on redhat site,

that connections (maybe only from outside US?) are possible and everything works out?

before you let the users spent that much time, telling them the problem is on their side......

(the support was very nice though and is the last person i would be mad about because they just haven't any possibilities to check if the problem is on redhat side)

... ok maybe not exactly the same problem, but im very confident that there are probs on rht side, if different users having problems connecting to rht....

I had exactly the same problem yesterday (2020-12-18) - black screen after "The onboarding process will..." message window. I have tried different network settings, other PC, lowering screen resolution... nothing solved an issue. About three hours before the exam and also few days ago, everything worked fine and successfully went through hardware compatibility test.

I can confirm the issue persisted from 14-19h the same day. Then, I switched everything off and just went home - disappointed :(

I had just about the same problem.  The screen kept blanking and "Network problems" errors showed up on the screen.  I even changed to a completely different network with *no* other devices on it.  I had the same problem.

The proctor at Red Hat refused to accept that the problem was not on my end and it ended up costing me an exam credit because I couldn't finish the exam in time due to all of the disconnects.
