RH134 / RH199: RHEL9.0 Lab reset root password using rd.break not working

I followed the steps in the document, but I was asked to give the root password.

Here is what I did:

1. On the Grub menu type e

2. Append rd.break to the end of the line starting with linux

3. Hit Ctrl+x

It boots to this:

Give root password for maintenance
(or press Control-D to continue):_

Any tips, please!?

Rd.break maybe function from now on news versions rhel9.1or 9.2 but on rhel9.0 this method not function because I have tested I’m sure

Even I faced this issue in the exam and due to this, I  was unable to clear the exam.

At RedHat 9 reset password’s changed

I passed the EX200 (RHEL 9) exam a month ago. rd.break method worked fine. I did reset the password without any issue.
