What is clean login!

Jump to solution

I tried to take RHCSA EX200 8 remote exam recently but couldn't get pass the initial login process for the exam vms. I had a prompt which said clean login. I tried to get pass it by cracking root password but that didn't work. When ever the vm booted it would go back to the clean login request screen. Whats is that all about? I plan to re-register for the exam. I want to know what this is. In all the preparations for the exam no one talked about a clean login prompt.

Has anyone ever seen this?

Hi @Lilian

Due to the NDA we can't discuss that...That's part of the exam challenge, you are supposed to figure it out yourself, and use your hands on experience...

Hi @Mavindu,

please do not discuss exam content. You are under NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and discussing the exam online could lead to consequences, such as revocation of your future certification(s).

That's is not the sort of answer you give to someone who has spent time and money preparing for an exam they finally cannot take. I shall surely be talking about this as loud as I can and to all I can in the coming days, people need to know what to expect from redhat when they sign up for an exam that does everything it can to stop you from taking it. How is it possible that this works on a ton of as many virtual machines as you've used while preparing for the exam but get there and you do the same thing you've done a thousand times to no avail. You are happy to take my money for the exam but then you slap NDA in my face when I come back asking what could have gone wrong. It really hurts!

@Manuacho

I understand that you are frustrated with your experience with the Red Hat exam. It can be very disappointing to fail an exam that you have spent time and money preparing for.

What you can do is to learn from your experience and improve your chances of success the next time you take the exam : The examination is not a reproduction of the course labs that you do (in an exact sequence) , It mimics real life production technical troubleshooting scenarios and hence challenges you to excel and earn the certification!

For specific feedback on exam questions or your exam experience the only way to provide feedback or get questions answered is through the official certification comment form,
https://rhtapps.redhat.com/comments
Additionally, discussions regarding questions and answers seen on the exam could result in certifications being revoked as this goes against the agreement that was signed when taking the exam.

If everybody discusses the exam questions then the sancitity and the value of the certification is violated - hence NDA is a much needed entity to protect the value of an Industry wide recognized / standard certification like Red Hat Certifications. I hope you can understand the gravity here.

After a lot of reflection and introspect, I think I came to the exam with the wrong mindset. It is a hands-on exam that I approached with the "fear of breaking anything" and yet the instructions implicitly implied a candidate can rebuild the system if stuck.. It is hard to explain but I think I get it and will only come back stronger.

That said, it will be good to give candidates a black on white heads up that they don't clear the first task on the list - getting into the system and/or making the root password work - then K.O!
That way they know what to expect and where to focus in how they prepare for the exam. Bear this in mind if you have to catch a flight and/or travel miles for the exam.
All the best.

Will Redhat  have video recoridng of the full exam for a certian period? It can be made availble for the candidate and the redhat representative in a meeting session if incase  any dispute happens? Otherwise how we can trust redhat exams ? If the dispute cannot be resolved stillGovt agencies can be involved ?
