When changing a connection on nmtui on say eth0, activating the connection will freeze it up, and then opening a new terminal and trying to SSH back into the server will fail giving port errors, what is the fix to this? is it something to do with cloud init?
Specifically its changing the IP and DNS, disabled cloud init, still does it. Not sure what else it could be?
You know what, thats probably what it was. I didnt use a separate connection to make the changes, I used the original. That would explain it. Such a simple mistake and it led me down such a rabbit hole. Wow. lol
Yeah, that is an easy mistake to make. I would recreate the lab and run thru it from scratch to make sure there are not any additional hidden issues we have not discussed.
@Jwilliam Also note that it is highly recommended to rebuild a fresh lab for each comp review exercises. That will be fastest to get a working lab environment wherein you can practice without issues.
Yeah I have been deleting and rebuilding alot on this, when the port 22 fail thing happens, resetting serverb doesnt fix it I have to delete and rebuild. probably rebuilt this thing like 15 times before deciding to ask for help lol
Definitely keep us posted if you have any other questions. We also love to hear success stories, so when you slay this dragon, let us know so we can celebrate with you!
@Jason_R_Preston Absolutely!
Hi there,
I hope you’re doing well! I’m preparing for the RHCSA exam and came across some information that a discount code from the exam can be used up to three times within three months. I was wondering if you might have an unused code that you’d be willing to share? It would really help me out a lot!
I understand if it's not possible, but thought I’d ask just in case. Thank you so much for your time!
