How to find red hat academy partners and become a student

As title indicates, I want to take structured training that'd last around 8 weeks to train me to become a good Red Hat Administrator and get certified RHCSA.  I don't know who to reach out to.  My community college cancelled the program right as I finished my Linux+ and was about to sign up for the two rhcsa courses.  They cited lack of interest.

I'm not happy.  Thank you for your precious time, attention and wisdom.

Where do you live? I'm sure there's an academy somewhere near you.

*Well, my friend, first of all, don’t get discouraged, tchê.*
It’s frustrating when a program gets canceled right when you’re ready to
move forward, but there *are* solid paths to get your RHCSA training done
in about 8 weeks, even without the community college.

Below is a structured 8-week plan and some guidance on where to learn, how
to practice, and how to prepare yourself like a true Red Hat campeiro.
------------------------------
* 8-Week RHCSA Training Plan (Gaúcho-style, but in English)* *Week 1:
Linux Foundations Review*

-

Refresh shell basics, permissions, users, groups.
-

Practice with chmod, chown, sudo, and basic scripting.
-

Make sure you’re comfortable navigating like riding a horse across the
pampa.

*Week 2: Storage & Filesystems*

-

LVM: creating volume groups, logical volumes, resizing them.
-

Filesystems: XFS, ext4, mounting, fstab, auto-mounts.
-

Practice until it feels natural, tchê.

*Week 3: Boot Process & System Management*

-

GRUB2 basics, rescue mode, resetting root password.
-

Systemd services, timers, targets.
-

Learn to handle problems calmly, like a gaúcho facing a storm.

*Week 4: Networking*

-

Configure hostname, networking with nmcli, firewalld, SELinux basics.
-

Static IPs, DNS, routing.
-

This part is tricky, mas não te apavora, guri/guria.

*Week 5: Users, Security & Permissions*

-

sudoers file, UMASK, ACLs, SELinux troubleshooting.
-

Understand what Red Hat expects in the exam.

*Week 6: Essential RHCSA Tasks*

-

Archiving with tar, gzip, xz.
-

Cron jobs, system monitoring tools.
-

Kickstart basics if you want to go deeper, tchê.

*Week 7: Containers (Podman)*

-

Podman basics: images, containers, persistent storage.
-

This is heavily tested nowadays.

*Week 8: Full Exam Simulation*

-

Dedicate this week to practice exams and timed labs.
-

Do *everything* without looking things up.

------------------------------
* Where to Get Proper Training (Since Your College Canceled)* *1. Red Hat
Official Training (Best but Expensive)*

-

RH124 + RH134
-

They offer virtual instructor-led and self-paced versions.

*2. Udemy Courses (Much Cheaper)*

Look for:

-

*Sander van Vugt – RHCSA (RHEL 9)*
One of the best trainers out there, bah!

*3. Free Labs*

-

*Katacoda (now O’Reilly)* – browser-based labs.
-

*VirtualBox or KVM* – install RHEL or Rocky Linux 9 to practice.

*4. Use Rocky Linux 9*

It’s almost identical to RHEL for training purposes, and free.
------------------------------
* Final Words, parceiro*

Don’t worry about the community college canceling the program.
*You absolutely can train yourself for the RHCSA with discipline, good
materials, and consistent practice.*

You already passed Linux+, meaning you’ve got the basics. Now you just need
to polish the Red Hat-specific workflow and hands-on skills.

If you want, I can build:
✔ a weekly checklist
✔ a daily study plan
✔ practice exams
✔ a list of labs to perform

Just tell me, tchê!

I’m here to help you ride through this challenge like a true gaúcho.

Hi William,

Thank you for reaching out!

To become a Red Hat Academy student, you must enroll through an educational
institution that is an official Red Hat Academy (RHA) partner. Individual
students cannot directly join the Academy unless their college or training
institute is already partnered with Red Hat.

Here are the options you can try:

1. Check nearby colleges or universities to see if they are Red Hat Academy
partners.

2. Contact institutions listed in the Red Hat Academy Talent Network, as
some of them offer RHA courses to enrolled students.

3. If your community college ended their program, you may ask them whether
they can re-activate their RHA partnership in the future.

4. You can also explore authorized Red Hat training partners (not RHA) who
provide RHCSA training, though those are paid options.

If you want, I can help you look up nearby Red Hat Academy partners or
alternatives for RHCSA training.

Hope this helps, and wishing you the best on your path to RHCSA
certification!

Regards,
Yamini

I’m looping in @KellyBarley, our North America program manager. If you can share the name of your school, that would help us understand the situation better.
In cases like yours, we can sometimes enable a self-paced video option so you can keep moving forward at your own rhythm. Your instructor would still need to create the class and enroll you, and I’m sure Kelly can help open that conversation.
And while you go through the course, you can always count on this community for support. You’re not doing this alone.

WOW!

What a great question @williamblair333 !
So far, I've been unable to find anything accurate about the Red Hat Academy that I work for. Careful crafting of my search on Google.com finally found INCORRECT information about our program in the AI summary, and related but hard-to-grok results/links to our web site, and other distillation sites...

But it seems kind of wierd to not have a searchable, filterable list of Red Hat Academys/Institutions.If we're just missing it, hopefully @KellyBarley will be able to share (he knows EVERYTHING about RHA!).
