Hey together,
for context: I just recently became RHCA in infrastructure and I am considering getting the Red Hat Certified Architect in Enterprise Applications aswell, since I still got some exam vouchers to use.
According to https://www.redhat.com/en/services/certification/renewal the RHCSA and RHCE will be renewed automatically by passing any exams that count towards RHCA.
I could however not find any information "on the dev site of things", meaning, will Red Hat Certified Enterprise Application Developer (ex183) and Red Hat Certified Enterprise Microservices Developer (ex283) or Red Hat Certified Cloud-native Developer (ex378) also be renewed by passing any other exam counting towards RHCA?
If so, my plan would be to keep the following 5 Specialists certificates up to date, in order to keep both RHCAs current.
I'm not an RHCA but am shooting for it and wondered the same about the Infra vs Dev exams.
There is an interesting phrase used on this list of RHCA exams: https://www.redhat.com/en/services/certification/rhca?pfe-1qtw1hqgy=exams
"... and keep the associated certifications current"
That's ^ just a guess.
Since there's no answer here, official support will probably have to answer: https://www.redhat.com/en/services/training-and-certification/contact-us
Be careful not to take it out of context:
"To attain RHCA status, an RHCEMD or RHCCD must pass at least 5 of the following exams and keep the associated certifications current:"
...read: "An RHCA (person) must [...] keep the associated certifications current:..."
Meaning, YOU are responsible to keep all relevant (5+) certifications current.
It does not say anything about RHCEMD or RHCCD being renewed automatically.
But yes, I think official support is the only one to really answer it.
Hello,
I've been an RHCA since 2015, bouncing up and down between levels
In my experience the only certificates that ever got extended are
- RHCSA
- RHCE
The only exception was extensions due to the corona crisis and fubars from redhat training administration.
In my experience the only way to extend an expertise certificate is by taking the exam again and passing it.
This will set the expiry date to 3 years after the date you pass the exam.
