@Sarang ,
Hi there,
I am not familiar with PE exams and contacting the support team would be your best option, but let me add my thoughts:
- 1920*1080 is the preferred resolution for the remote exams, I presume it's the same for PEs.
- If you running the PE tests on chrome, please try running it on Chromium and if you still have problems, try installing a lower version of the browser. (I tried and experienced the same problem on Chrome 87, but the PE tests on Chrome/Chromium 85 and lower worked as expected.)
Regards,
Hi,
You may have sent your response to the wrong person. I was not asking about screen resolution.
Thanks
I bought a external webcam, but the autofocus isn't good enough, my collegue has the same webcam, he experienced issues during his exam. I have a build-in webcam on my laptop as well that has auto-focus. My question is are both cam's on during the exam, so my identity verification can be done with the build-in webcam and have the external cam on as well for checking the environment. Or do i specifically need a external camera with autofocus?
I did the compatibility check and everything is fine, but i really would like to know.
Thanks.
Hi @rmokkink ,
If you are on a laptop with a built-in web camera, you can use it for verifying ID. However, please note that the external camera is still needed to monitor your exam.

Hi,
After reading the 'Redhat Remote Exam' document, I believe following two environments are possible for remote exam particularily with regard to camera(s) and USB ports. Could you please confirm them ?
Note that I already made Exam Bootable Image USB device.
Env 1 - Labtop with 1 embedded camera.
-- 1 additional external USB camera
-- USB port for Exam Bootable Image USB device. (Note that this USB port is //write protected//. It's read only and boot image can be successfully loaded from this port)
Evn2 - Desktop without any embedded cameras
-- 1 external USB camera
-- USB port for Exam Bootable Image USB device. (No restriction in this USB port)
-- USB ports for wired keyborad and mouse.
I could pass compatability testing for both two environments.
But please confirm whether they are practically eligible in real exam.
Hi,
Can you please confirm whether my two environments are correct in above ?
Thanks.
Hi @jhkim ,
- An external web camera is mandatory for both desktops and laptops (Even if the laptop has an inbuilt webcam)
` The newer image loads the ISO to memory and prompts to unplug the USB device, freeing up one USB port.
With that aside, both your setups sound okay and meet the exam requirements.

Anyone know how to pass RHCSA?
Hi @JAMES_SA5859 ,
The RH124 and RH134 should help you prepare for the RHCSA exam.
