The password is there because the ISO contains an encrypted filesystem (partitions) . Do not re-insert the USB stick after you create it to the same operating system. Just use it by booting from it. If you delete the partitions from the USB stick, the USB stick will became usable again

Hi,

The MD5 checksum  for the latest version is 478157b7675223468d83253a241a1fd5.Yes, ISo prompts for password when you try to open the file which is not required. You can plug in the USB and select the option "Boot using External USb drive" and boot using Live image.

Thank you , booting from USB seems to work (I will finish the job later).
What was directing me in the wrong way was the documentation (apart from the checksum, also the lsblk view after the dd operation should be corrected since the disk is password protected...)
Have a nice day

Hi Redhat,

I bought new laptop. It is powered by Core i7 and new wifi card. But there is no LAN Port. I have checked with RHEL8.4 ISO (Exam) (Fedora 33, I guess), the network card is not detected. But I have checked with TP Link USB Wifi card, It is working. Can I use USB Wifi card for the exam ? Please confirm here

Thanks,

HHH.

yes, a simple USB to WIFI adapter is allowed
Consider using USB to Ethernet adapter for a usbtowifi.pngmore reliable connection

If we are going that far, I would recommend a USB docking station while we are at it.

I think the external dock is allowed if needed to achieve the necessary connectivity to the required devices and hook up to the network. However, some external docks plugged into the USB-C ports use Thunderbolt protocols and there may be issues. So basic USB to SOMETHING adapters are better. The number of USB ports may also be multiplied by a USB HUB.

Hi Rh,

I have passed the exam. However I faced the flapping issuec with the usb wifi adapter. The best advice use built-in wifi module or USB to Lan Converters.

I coudn’t get past the log in screen.
I used the latest ISO and also a 2020 version.

The latest iso is stuck after accepting the privacy statement. “Waiting on consent.trustarc.com”

The old iso is stuck connecting to id.redhat.com

I tried multiple times, keep getting stuck at log in.

Is the environment down?
I’m sure it’s not my computer as I already used this in two previous exams.
Network looks fine as well.
