I'm taking my test tomorrow and I'll little confused as if I should run all the commands as sudo podman, my instructor led lab based on 4.5 used sudo but the 4.6 based labs do not need sudo anymore it looks like. The instructor didn't know the answer. I'm asking because when I was doing a lab, the check script actually failed me because I hadn't used sudo podman one time.
Hello @SylvainMartin.
Rootless containers are supported as Technology Preview in RHEL 7.7 and RHEL 8.0. They are fully supported starting in RHEL 7.8 and RHEL 8.1. So put attantion to base OS Versin, but not to OCP Version.
No one can give you a specific answer because that would violate the Non-Disclosure Agreement.
Make sure you see this - the published objectives: https://www.redhat.com/en/services/training/ex180-red-hat-certified-specialist-containers-kubernetes...
Maybe this helps . . . I teach the class and you are right. v4.5 uses sudo podman and v4.6 does not. But that's kind of the reason v4.6 came out -- because only rootless containers should be used unless there is a good reason to use rootful containers (like the application requires an IP address).
Anyway, beyond that, I don't have a good answer for you.
