Logging into the Ansible Automation Platform console

Jump to solution

Does logging into the Ansible Automation Platform console essentially
represent logging into automation controller?

That's all!

@Trevor -

This is a loaded question here (mainly because of terminology and naming conventions). So it is important to note that there is the Ansible Automation Platform console available at (https://console.redhat.com/) where you are clicking Ansible Automation Platform.

That is completely separate from Ansible Automation Controller (commonly called automation controller) which comes with your subscription and is managed and owned by you. The AAP subscription entitlements allow you to create your own automation controller, private automation hub, automation mesh (execution nodes / hop nodes) and more.

So if you are referring to the Red Hat hosted console login, that is not the same thing as the ansible automation controller (which is what replaced Ansible Tower).

Travis -

Ah, the terminology.  That's responsible for this steep incline on my
learning journey with this whole AA platform.

There was a part of me that wanted to leave of "console", but I also
needed to attach it because I needed to expose something
that I was reading.  I'm glad I did, because your explanation did just
that - exposed!!!

In conclusion Travis, you've provided another clarification, that will
enable me to continue this AAP learning journey with confidence.

Thank you good sir!!!
