@DirkSeifert ,

Hi there,

Yes, An external mic (or a mic builtin into the web camera) can be used for the remote exam.

Hello @kpietras,

A new exam image was released earlier this week. The size of the rhrexboot.iso is about 2.3 GB. The MD5 checksum is 585cb364da1ae2fae94e22e07913316e.

Best Regards,

How many days before the exam should I download an image? I'm not sure how often they are updated and if it matters that I have an older version.

My USB currently has an image that was downloaded on Nov 26th, which is the image that I used to test my laptop (different hash).

My exam is this Friday.

Thanks!

My image's checksum is not the same as mentioned above. I downloaded it from official redhat's mail. Its 0dd72ac558fc1afbf0c0e1fa4b366f10 . Could someone please confirm if checksum has changed ?

Hi.

I have a couple of questions. My exam is scheduled for January 6th. I ran the Pre-checks successfully with the following hardware:

- Display 21:9 2560*1080

- External webcam

- Headset (Audio + Mic)

My questions:

- Is a headset allowed during the exam? The internal mic on the webcam isn't working in the exam environment.

- Also when i try to scan my ID, the image isn't clear enough to read my name. Is it possible to make a enlarged copy of my ID next to the actual physical ID?

- Is a 21:9 2560*1080 resolution allowed during the exam?

- I have two 21:9 screens mounted on a monitor stand. Do i need to remove one of the monitors or can i use a blanket or something like that to cover up the second screen?

Kind Regards,

Gerben

Hi @gerbenw ,

- Is a headset allowed during the exam? The internal mic on the webcam isn't working in the exam environment.

You may connect a headset with the mic as a replacement for the internal mic, but please note it should not be worn. The headset will have to be placed on the desk where the proctor can view them.

- Also when i try to scan my ID, the image isn't clear enough to read my name. Is it possible to make a enlarged copy of my ID next to the actual physical ID?

Photocopied IDs are not allowed for the exam in general. In your case, I doubt the proctor can verify the two IDs as the original one is blurred. Perhaps you can use something like a magnifying lens to focus text to the original ID?

- Is a 21:9 2560*1080 resolution allowed during the exam?

The screen will probably be downscaled and hardly visible at high resolutions. (Do give it a try, you can reboot and choose a different resolution if it doesn't work). From my experiences in the exam (in my setup), 1920 x 1080 had the best view.

- I have two 21:9 screens mounted on a monitor stand. Do i need to remove one of the monitors or can i use a blanket or something like that to cover up the second screen?

A blanket to cover up the second screen would be fine. (Note that the proctors may ask you to disconnect any cables to the second monitor.

Hi,

Just tested my new webcam in the exam enviroment and passed all the tests, but have two questions to ask as not sure if it's going to work.

1. One time the test showed output of both internal and external cameras on the screen then showed only the internal camera on the next step. Test passed on quality, and sound but while showing only the internal camera.

So question here is why external cam is showing only on the first test and am I alright for the exam if the test passed?

2. External camera will not focus good enough on my ID to be readable but the internal cam focuses good so the proctor will be able to read it.

Question is, can the proctor use my internal camera to read my ID?

Regards

Both cameras are active simultaneously and both of them can be used to verify the user ID (or at least this has been the case for me, as my external cam does not properly support autofocus).
