Hello @ManojKaliatnil ,

I am totaly confused.

Have you read through the Remote exam ebook? The ebook guide should explain the remote exam requirements. If you still have questions, this video, should provide a fair idea.

To answer your question, yes, the exam is accessed using a bootable USB and an external camera is a mandatory requirement.

Please use the links provided above and let me know if you still have questions.

Hello,

I would suggest working with the exam support team (Live chat contact is available in page 1 of the ebook).
Apple hardware do not play well with the remote exam ISO (See: Operating system: Macintosh section of the ebook) and you may need some tweaks before getting it to boot. I hope the live support can help you.

Again a question about the exam environment. The "adequate mic volume" test is marked as failed. However the recording is very very loud and perfectly clear. Can this (totally wrong) "failed" issue prevent me from taking the exam?

Hello Deanna, I have a question about the RH Exam environment, once the exam actually starts. Is there a way to add a taskbar? It is really difficult to switch between different windows. The instructions are in a browser, then I need to have a terminal opened, and then maybe another browser for verifying if applications are running.

The only way that I could switch between the different applications is by clicking in the 'Activities' and waiting for the slow animation to show me the running applications, and then clicking on the window. This is really horrible way to work, the animations are slow, and I think I probably wasted several precious minutes just switching between the applications when it's all added up.

Is there a way to enable taskbar? Or is the 'Activities' really the only option to switch between applications? I know that GNOME 3 is famous for having almost zero features out of the box but there should be a better way? Thank you.

I use a bigger 2nd monitor and kept my laptop lid closed. So that I can
keep a browser window open on left, 2x consoles in right stacked.. no more
switching.
If you are using a small screen it will be difficult.

Yes, sometimes the desktop graphics is super slow !!!

I also use 2nd monitor, but the Remote Exam (VNC screen) is half of the monitor. Do you have the same problem? or how do you solve it?
thanks

Oh okay. Nope I never had that issue before. (Already done 4-5 remote
exams) I always get a full desktop screen on 2nd screen.

I think some of the moderators can advise on that “small screen”
technical issue

Thank you Gineesh for the tip, split screen is something I can try next time :)

I have a big 30 inch 4k Dell screen so I should have enough space. Although, I must say, there is a lot of wasted space. For me the exam window takes maybe 50-60% of the screen it's very wide so it doesn't utilize the lower portion of the screen, the rest is just some background color, and in the bottom right corner is the chat button to communicate with the Proctor.

Now I wonder if I can change the resolution of the exam window, that might be quite useful.
