I've been able to replace the USB stick with my USB keyboard, so this might work for your mouse, too. But I was using a laptop - so there were fallback input devices that the live system could recognize while starting up.

Best you can do is to simply try it out - you're supposed to test-run the exam environment several times before the exam, anyway.

Good luck!

Thanks. Yes I try the configuration:

1. usb disk and external camera plugged in

2. after SO start, replace usb disk with mouse

and it's OK.

I hope that the proctor confirm this configurations.

Hi all, another question. My external camera have autofocus but the identification document is not readable, when I put it near the camera.

Then I try with both internal and external camera activated, because the autofocus of the internal camera working fine. Can I keep both active and use the internal for focus on the identification document and external for show the environment? Thanks.

That should be OK - I've used a similar setup in the past and hadn't had any issues or comments from surprised proctors.

Hi,
I am not sure but I think it is possible especially if you are not using an
external monitor as you will keep the laptop lid open in this case.
You can also try to move the ID a little away from the external camera and
it may be readable in this case.

Hello.

I'm getting problem when I download the Remote Exam Live Environment ISO:

It seems to be a damaged ISO: I try to load in Windows and appears an error saying the ISO is damaged.

Then I write the ISO to USB using the Fedora Media Writer and then booting the USB in my PC, but just stay in the grub shell. Can you do the same test? https://static.redhat.com/downloads/training-certification/rhrexboot.iso

tl:dr I can't boot the environment ISO with the USB in my PC.

Hi,

your downloaded ISO file should have the checksum SHA256: c7002c0453d0ad086b6fec188c73c13fb5501228b6d6597653706d56bcef8e7b (as of May 30th 2022).

I'm guessing that the ISO file can't be mounted in Windows, because it's not an CD-ROM/DVD image.
If your file matches the checksum, and since Fedora Media Writer is able to write it to your stick, you'll most probably have to tweak some GRUB settings to make the boot medium work on your setup. Ask Red Hat support, if needed.

For remote exams if the area an exam is being taken in experiences a rolling blackout due to local electric company cutting power, then how do we deal with this?

Reasons for asking:

- they are happening

- no schedule on when they will happen (all based on base load needs)

Thanks in advance,

Fate

I have downloaded the iso to my usb drive to test it. I am able to boot my laptop with it but cannot connect to wifi. Is this to be expected? If this is not to be expected how can I troubleshoot this?
