Hi @JS_Learning

Thank you for the answer.

1. Can I say that external Webcam that works well with Fedora 32 will also work with live USB ISO

Of course, I will consider other factors,  1m cable length  and Camera clarity.

2. 4G internet will be available as wifi hotspot ( lets say "Vodafone-4G"). I think that should not be a problem as 'live USB ISO' will treat it as any other wifi hotspot.

The broadband connection can also be made available through wifi hotspot( lets say "airtel-wired").

The  important point for me is to know if I can switch between hotspots "airtel-wired" and "Vodafone-4G" if one goes down during exam. Can you help me on this or direct me to any useful discussions?

Hi @Sarang ,

I need to clarify something practical with the teams about your question.
For now, this is in the FAQ:

"Answer: If network connectivity problems arise within the first 30 minutes of the exam and you are unable to resolve them, you can request to discontinue and reschedule your exam attempt. If you are able to resolve the issue quickly, you will be able to resume where you left off once you boot to the live USB and connect to the exam environment."

I understand the core question now is if you can switch wifi hotspot during the exam. I will check on that and let you know.

Cheers,

Hello @Sarang,

If there is an internet issue, you will have to reboot the laptop to the RE image, go to the wireless network settings and connect to the back up connection. Rebooting will not impact your exam. The Proctor will suspend your exam session till you are back.

Nevertheless, I am highly doubtful if a 4G connection will be sufficient to have a smooth exam experience. The performance may be significantly impacted.

Best Regards,

Shefeeq

Hi,

this is my first redhat exam (EX280) and I'm trying to schedule it asap.

I've bought camera, took notebook especially for the exam as soon as my working laptop is not eligible to start from external drives due to security policies, I've uploaded my goverment issued local ID with photo on Friday and still didn't get an approval. I think I'm half way to the exam and can't predict if the process should finish by the end of September to give me the chance to access EX280 before it's withdrawal.

Do you consider new applicants to pass exams? If yes, could you please help?

thank you

Hello,

Pre-approval of ID verification shouldn't take such a long time as weeks. Can you please log a ticket at https://rhtapps.redhat.com/comments/ so that the team can check the details and revert to you?

Best Regards,

Hi @Yousuf ,

Internet speed tests available on the internet choose the nearest server to test bandwidth and hence realtime results can be quite different. The download/upload test of our compatibility test looks at the speed to access Red Hat servers and hence it will be different based on distance, time of testing, etc.

Please try conducting a few more iterations of this test at different times of the day to see if the failure is consistent.

Can I use an IMac?

The IMac however has a wireless trackpad and a wireless keyboard, is that acceptable?

Hello @Sai_K,

Wireless keyboard and trackpad are not acceptable. You will need a wired keyboard and mouse. iMac compatibility in general such as wireless adapter detection, ability to boot to the live USB etc. can only be determined by creating the bootable remote exam image on a USB and testing it out. Hence, if you have a wired keyboard and mouse handy, please create a live USB and run the compatibility test.

Best Regards,

Shefeeq
