Looking for some advice. I will be taking the RHCE exam next month. I have completed RH294 - Red Hat Enterprise Linux Automation with Ansible. Would anyone suggest that RH254 - Red Hat System Administration III would be a good course since it is RHEL7?
No.
RH294 replaced RH254. I wish it hadn't, but that's another story.
RH294 is Ansible.
In my humble opinion RH254 could have been best described as server-side system administration (whereas RH124 and RH134 are primarily client side).
While it could give you some deeper appreciation about how to set up some server-side things that are done in RH294 using Ansible automation (like Apache web server and services), there's much in RH254 that doesn't relate to what's done in RH294 (iSCSI, team bonding, LDAP, NFS with Kerberos, Samba, ...)

I see RHCE is retiring at end of year. What will replace it?
Hello n0rg,
May I learn where you saw the announcement that RHCE is
retiring at end of year. That's the kind of thing that would
make the 6 o'clock news!!!
Hello @n0rg
Did you mean the current RHCE or the old one, based on RHEL7?
