Hi, folks,
I'm relatively new to Satellite and am trying to organize my hosts.
We've got a fairly simple shop in which I do almost no lifecycle management of internally-built applications. We've got test/dev machines and production machines, and a variety of versions.
My next task is organizing patching. I want to patch test/dev a week ahead of production. The simplest way to do that seems to be to create host collections for test/dev and for production.
But that seems very obvious and maybe sub-optimal, so let me ask: How would you organize this?
Thanks,
John A
Check Host Collections and Bookmarks.
So my naïve approach of putting test machines into a host collection and production machines into a host collection is actually the right way to go at this? I'm pleasantly shocked!
Say a word or two about how I'd use bookmarks with them. I'm not seeing that instantly.
Bookmarks makes your life easy in remote execution form. Its not necesary (you can write the search at "Search query" box) but for me its easiest to use bookmarks.
