Installing RHEL 8

I've done the network install.  If I use the boot ISO, is there a Red Hat URL to install RHEL 8.1?  I'm disappointed if I have to host the install locally or use a dual layer DVD.

Once RHEL 8.2 gets released, you can use the boot.iso to install the system without having the dvd.iso handy. To install RHEL 8.1 (or lower) you still have to use the dvd.iso to install the system.

Well, a nearly big 8 GB image won't fit onto a normal DVD I'm afraid - why don't you use an USB drive ? Not sure what you mean with "someone would share a http url", but here is the download link for the RHEL 8 ISO images : https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/479/ver=/rhel---8/8.1/x86_64/product-software

I'm downloading the larger install now for USB and using https://github.com/FedoraQt/MediaWriter/releases to write it.  By URL I meant when using the boot.iso the Installtion Source URL, that is how I installed 8.0 beta at work, I had to download a bunch of files to host locally to do the install from a regular CD boot.iso startup.  Red Hat needs to have a better Internet based install that doesn't require a dual layer DVD IMHO

Yes, as I said in my first response ... starting with the release of RHEL 8.2 - that will become reality. Red Hat listened to customer feedback and provides a net installer that downloads the current version of packages during the installation process and you won't need the DVD anymore.

That's good to hear, I remember my first Linux install back in the 90's, Slackware doing an Internet install.

Go figure my Fedora Writer on Windows 10 isn't working so I'm going to use my Plex Ubuntu system to dd the dvd to my USB.  Can't wait for this to be easier ;)
