Hi all,
I am in a situation where I am required to deliver RHA content using labs configured with Windows 11. I have been notified by the systems admin that there is no possibility of booting anything other than Windows 11, and have been instructed to use VMWare Workstation (already installed on the machines) to teach RHA.
Has anyone had any experience successfully booting the RHA image in VMWare? I could successfully build an image using Qemu/KVM but the same techniques/images will not boot using VMWare (I assume driver issues).
The only option I can see that I have left is to make a Fedora image, then use nested virtualisation to run the RHA images; but this would be convoluted and confusing to students.
Since the end of March '22, the cloud lab is offered at no cost for all the courses that our academic partners are scheduling on the Learning Platform. In which geo region are you operating?
Hi - have you considered using the cloud lab offered by Red Hat Academy?
Best,
Tudor
Yes, the institute doesn't want to pay for that =(

Oh wow, news to me.
I did some testing on a student account and did indeed see a cloud lab. I tried to fire up the VMs but the console button seemed to do nothing.
I will need to investigate further.
I am in Asia/Pacific.
Hello, Greetings. Can you pls share your contact details (RHA Name, Your Name, Email Id, Mobile #, Red Hat Login Id) to discuss further? Thanks, Shirish
Let me or @ShirishVPandey know if you need additional help.
I would suggest viewing the video tutorial on the lab page as that shows how to provision, start and stop the machines.
Also, the best experience I had was on Google Chrome. Internet Explorer might not render some functionality correctly (I know you mentioned that you are a Windows user).
Best,
Tudor
I had seen emails stating the labs were free, but I was under the false impression this was time limited, so I did not investigate further. @ShirishVPandey cleared it up for me via email.
Thanks again.
Brilliant - have a great day!
