Anticipating forward to the event. Thanks @lauren!
@lauren Great initiative!!
Thank you for this opportunity, especially for my students at the Modibbo Adama University, Yola in Nigeria. This is going to be a great opportunity to learn resume writing.
We are so excited to have you and your students join us! If there's any specific topics/questions you'd like for us to cover during the session, feel free to post them here and we'll be sure to cover it during the Q&A part of the presentation.
Many thanks for your reply. I will collate and post the questions.
Apologies for the last-minute questions. Here are some questions from my students:
1. How do I get access to open-source jobs?
2. How do I access internships not related to coding, like product management and testing?
3. What are the prospects of getting a remote internship for a Nigerian student?
4. What advice do you have for students with a poor grasp of Java and enterprise Java who are willing to upskill?
5. What portfolio projects should I embark on to showcase my skills to recruiters?
@ridsulnai I am sure @lauren will help address those questions from the learners.
1. "How do I get access to open-source jobs?" I guess once the learners are part of RHA talent network - they will have access to see the open source job listings there.
2. "How do I access internships not related to coding, like product management and testing?" - Not sure if these are listed there specifically.
3. "What advice do you have for students with a poor grasp of Java and enterprise Java who are willing to upskill?" - Start with fundamentals like object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and exception handling and then proceed to enterprise Java ( We have a course in Red Hat training portfolio : https://www.redhat.com/en/services/training/ad248-red-hat-jboss-application-administration-i )
Join RHLC and learn from peers and experts.
How do I land a remote job in the Red Hat space?
@ridsulnai You can refer the below link and filter out the remote location and apply for the best suited.
Thanks @Wasim_Raja
