Clarification Regarding Use of Old Passport for RHCE Exam (Scheduled on 17 October 2025)

I have registered for the RHCE exam scheduled on 17 October 2025, with the registration completed on 4 October 2025.

Due to a recent change in my marital status, I have applied for passport renewal, and my current passport was stamped as “cancelled” by the authorities on 6 October 2025, pending the issuance of a new one.

Since the old passport was uploaded as the proof of address during my RHCE exam registration, I would like to confirm whether I can still use the same (cancelled) passport for identification and verification on the exam day, or if I should update my record with the new passport once it is issued.

Hi @VAISAKH_H , as far as I know there will be a grace period of 3 months to use the expired/cancelled ID for verification.

First thing is your ID must be pre-approved before the exam. If you've uploaded the same old (cancelled) passport for ID approval, just wait for it. If it is approved, well and good. You can show the same ID during the ID verification on the day of exam. If it gets rejected, you can use other ID's like voter's ID, DL, PAN, aadhar etc.

I understand you might have finished your exam by now. But to get more clarity on this for future use, you can raise a ticket at https://rhtapps.redhat.com/comments
