Hi, I have a MacBook Pro 13-inch (2020) with an Intel Core i5 running macOS Ventura 13.5.1 (22G90).
I booted using the rhrexboot-2025-07.iso image.
I wasn’t able to configure either the Wi-Fi or the wired network.
I also couldn’t get the sound output or microphone to work.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue?
How did you solve it?

@KenjiSan The best way to get help from exam support is to raise a support case to the team here : https://rhtapps.redhat.com/comments

Hello @KenjiSan

Did you also face the same issues with the older version of the ISO (rhrexboot-2023-06)?

You can try updating the drivers or software (if there are any) on your Macbook and try rebooting the exam ISO

Hi Kirthiram333,

I tested the rhrexboot-2023-06 ISO. It only changed the appearance, but I’m still experiencing the same issues with both the network and audio.
The MacBook firmware is up to date.

Thanks and regards.

The new ISO moved up from Fedora 37 to Fedora 41, so using a newer kernel, which really brings better compatibility. However, I can confirm I still observe issues with Macs

Somebody might find this helpful:

The other day I downloaded this version and pushed it on my temporary usb key (to not to mess with my 2023 iso copied to USB key I use during actual exams). I did that in hurry, didn't pay close attention to the results of the dd copy and my "random" block size selection in the process.

USB key started to boot on my HP ProBook 445 g10, progress seemed ok. Just before it switched to gdm interface I was able to glance over an error when suddenly book powered off.

Fedora works just fine on this book.

I found out that the USB key has corrupted alt gpt header, most likely a result of my poor choice of block size during dd.

I guess it's obvious, pay attention to how you copy the iso. I was in hurry and caught this later than I should have.

Hi All,  Exam iso rhrexboot-2025-07.iso does not work for me, md5sum is ok.

I have created  with accordance to the instruction (using Fedora Media Writer, and dd to try something else).  I used 2 pendrives and tested on 2 computers (dell latitude e5450, and a custom on Q9650).  Media error, cannot boot!  I have run out of ideas.

Anybody has some hints about that, what I could check, what to do differnetly, maybe pendrives both faulty, baybe computers too old?

"Media error, cannot boot!" message does suggest error reading media. But when you mentioned "computers too old" -- yeah, that might be the case. This ISO image requires you to do UEFI boot, legacy boot (aka "bios" boot) is not supported.

Do those computer have UEFI support ? If so disable CSM (compability support module in firmware that does what "bios" did) and try to UEFI boot that drive again.

If you don't have UEFI boot you're out of luck here.
