Hi @Bitsi ,

Thanks for reaching out !

An IT professional who has earned the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) is able to perform the core system administration skills required in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments. The credential is earned after successfully passing the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Exam (EX200).

You can start by enrolling into our training courses based on the below criteria:

For Windows system administrators or candidates with minimal experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux:

For Linux or UNIX administrators:

For candidates seeking an introductory course on container management:

The trainings are not mandatory and you can directly take the RHCSA exam ( EX200 ) if you feel you have the required understanding and experience. However we highly recommend learners to go for the trainings as they cover real life hands on technical training in order to prepare them to tackle the real problems in live production environments in their daily work.

Please refer the EX200 link for your reference :

All the best !

Hi.. @Bitsi

Nice question,

I strongly agree with @Chetan_Tiwary_ Chetan_Tiwary_ reply on this point.

"The trainings are not mandatory, and you can directly take the RHCSA exam ( EX200 )"

If you have good confidence and good skills, you can take skill assessments at the link below.

then see the result of your skill assessment.

You can directly take the RHCSA exam ( EX200 ) if you feel you have the required understanding and experience.

Hi  @Bitsi

To learn RHEL, the best way is to enrol in an introductory instructor led program wherein most of your basic concepts are cleared and you don't get stuck in some silly stuff and waste your time.It gives you confidence to carryon self learning. RedHat do provide the same. If you need self paced learning you can always go for RH124 and RH134. This will also gives you the eligibility to attempt RHCSA Exam which is EX200. Remember practise makes you perfect, spend enough time with terminal testing and exploring the features and power of Linux.

I feel the best way to learn a product - apart from training is to actually get your hands dirty and able to get access to Red Hat products either through work or at your school and learn from doing it.

Additionally, go over the Red Hat documentation for references and nuances.
RHCSA EX200 is a peformance based test - better get cracking on it.

Hello @Bitsi

Even though you have a previous experience with Linux, I highly recommend you to take the courses below and practice a lot on the labs:

Besides that, you can setup your account on By doing it, you can have free subscription for testing purposes and you can download RHEL and start using it on your personal laptop or as a VM.

SELinux is very important too and it is a feature a lot of people don't use because they don't know how to deal with it.

Bear in mind to be able to understand all the topics and know how to search for help in the system in case you need. The "man" command will be your best friend in this journey.

I wish you all the best and let us know you get the certification.

Hi @Bitsi,

I think that in order to obtain RHCSA you need to:

1. Prepare a virtualized environment with the images you can get for free from Red Hat Developer (

(If you have a Learning subscription, this step is not mandatory because you will have everything there)
2. Start reading RH124( and RH134( or if you feel you have enough experience you can jump to RH199(
3. After you finish those courses you should be ready to take the RHCSA exam.

The books are great and if you pay attention while reading and finish every lab out there you won't have any problem during the exam. I strongly recommend to take your time and learn at your own pace in order to remember all the information because everything is important.

P.S. Learn to use the manual (man command) and start mastering it while doing the lab reviews, because you won't have internet access during the exam and this is the best way to practice for it.
