Hi,
I wanted to register for the above said examination. As a prerequisite I have taken the following courses from redhat:
1. Introduction to Containers, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift
2. Red Hat OpenShift Development I: Containerizing Applications
Since this is the first time I will take an redhat examination i wanted to know a few helpful tips about the same. Also i needed to know about the format of the examiation i.e is what documentations are availible during exam?
Also if anyone has taken the learning path suggested by redhat to pass this exam is the exam format same as the challenge exercises we face at the end of each module?
Thanks,
Huzefa
Hey Huzefa!
Once exams start back up then yes you have taken the appropriate courses to prepare for EX288.
For documentation, I would familiarize yourself with navigating the OpenShift 4.2 docs, particluarly the "develop" section: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/openshift_container_platform/4.2/
The exam will have a similar approach to the comprehensive reviews at the end of the courses where you are given several requirements and are asked to complete each. Practicing with the labs at the end of each chapter is also a good way to help prepare for the exams. I'd recommend attempting the labs without looking at the solutions and only using the documentation to get a good feel for what the exam will be like.
Hope that helps!

Hi,
Thank you so much for the answer. I liked the way you taught the DO280 course especially how you performed the lab excercises. Learnt a lot from it

@zachgutterman Enjoined your DO180 course. I'll be taking the EX180 exam soon. Regarding the documentation provided during the exam, which you reference above, are the 'Dockerfile reference' provided? I referred to the documentation link you provided above, though I oonly can find OCP documention refer to external docs.docker.com for 'Dockerfile reference' details. Will access to this external doc.docker.com resource be available during exam?
For example, the 'Dockerfile reference' here: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/openshift_container_platform/4.2/html-single/images/in...
Would this 'Dockerfile reference' be found anywhere in the offline exam testing image?
Regards,
Jason
One thing to have in mind, The documentation you have access to is the commands man documentation not the official Openshift docs from Red Hat Documentation site.
Hope that help!!

Hi,
Provided solutions are step by, such as:
Build the S2I builder image. Name it ABC. Now if the hit 'show solution', then solutions show.
Is the real exam format similar? I mean steps will be given but not solution off course.
Thanks
This will be similar to the exam, except as you guessed you cannot actually "view the solution." The exams will give you objectives similar to the labs and comprehensive reviews do, but you will need to do the implementation on your own using only the documentation.
Thanks Zachgutterman.
"....implementation on your own using only the documentation."
Would the documentation be accessible?
Hzllo, I read in remote exam constraints it is not possible to write notes on white paper, is it true ?
